Unmatched Variety by style, brewery & country
Choose from Five different Beer Clubs offering unmatched variety by brewery,
country of origin, and beer style to suit your specific tastes.
- Style: IPA
- ABV: 6.0%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 47
- Serving Temperature: 45-50° F
- Suggested Glassware: Pint Glass or Mug
- Hops: Cascade, Columbus
- Malts: Pale, Crystal
- Country: United States
Arcadia’s IPA presents a pretty picture in the glass: crystal clear copper with plenty of fluffy foam that laces as it recedes. The aroma’s inviting, too, offering up fruity tangerine, floral, pine, and spice notes with a touch of lightly caramelized malt. On the palate, the hop flavors come forward in full effect thanks to generous dry-hopping with Columbus, while the hop bitterness is firm but not overdone. There’s enough malt to provide...
- Style: India Pale Lager
- ABV: 5.5%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 45
- Serving Temperature: 45-50° F
- Suggested Glassware: Pint Glass, Pilsner Glass
- Hops: Glacier, Falconer’s Flight
- Malts: German Malt
- Country: United States
IPLs have become quite popular in recent years – a good trend, we think, as it draws more people to craft lagers which for a long time have languished in the shadow of more common and sometimes flashier ales. Baderbräu’s IPL is certainly no wallflower. Pouring clear golden with fluffy white foam, Lawnmower Lager offers up quite the array of hop aromas. Brewed with Glacier as well as Falconer’s Flight, a unique blend of several Pacific NW hop...
- Style: IPA / Saison Hybrid with Brettanomyces
- ABV: 7%
- Serving Temperature: 50–57° F
- Suggested Glassware: Tulip, Nonic, Pinot, or IPA Glass
- Country: United States
While we make a point to partner up with some of the greatest brewers on the planet for our exclusive offers, the beers that get made for the first time exclusively for our Rare Beer Club members always have a bit of welcome mystery to them. The first time we get to try the end result (of what’s often a couple months of batting ideas back and forth, figuring out a good approach that combines a brewery’s particular strengths with what we...
- Style: Emmerbier
- ABV: 5.1%
- Suggested Glassware: Weizen Glass, Stange, Mug
- Country: Germany
Emmer is a type of wheat which was among the earliest cultivated grains in human history (actually pre-history, to be accurate), dating to Neolithic times. Before its cultivation, hunter gatherers harvested it wherever it grew wildly, with the earliest evidence of its consumption dating to approximately 19,000 years ago near the Sea of Galilee. It, along with barley and einkorn, was a staple crop in the Fertile Crescent, and it was also used by...
- Style: Zwickelbier
- ABV: 5.5%
- Serving Temperature: 42-47° F
- Suggested Glassware: Stange, Pilsner Glass, Mug
- Country: Germany
Zwickelbier is a variation on kellerbier, which is a German style known for being unfiltered and matured in cellars in wood casks left not completely sealed, which allows much of the carbonation to escape. Zwickel casks, however, are usually sealed for a while before bottling, allowing more carbonation to build up. They are also usually crafted to be a bit lighter in flavor (usually hop flavor) than kellerbier, although we found Zoller-Hof’s...
- Style: Oak-Aged Sour Red Ale
- ABV: 8%
- Serving Temperature: 45–52° F
- Suggested Glassware: Tulip, Snifter, Flute, or Cab Sauv Glass
- Country: Italy
We’re pretty pumped to be able to offer up this classic Italian sour ale to our Rare Beer Club members—and especially at such a comparatively low price point. Panil Barriquée is one of the truly impeccable old-school sour imports, and it often retails for around $25 or more per bottle. Aside from this hefty allocation for Rare Beer Club members, this year less than 150 cases of Panil Barriquée will be making it into U.S. distribution beyond...
- Style: Scotch Ale / Wee Heavy
- ABV: 8.5%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 28
- Serving Temperature: 48-53° F
- Suggested Glassware: Pint Glass, Thistle, Tulip, Snifter
- Hops: Nugget
- Malts: Maris Otter, Roasted Barley
- Country: United States
This Scotch ale pours a deep, hazy brown with flashes of orange and garnet. There’s quite an inviting nose on this brew; look for caramelized malt aromas leading to an impression of moderate sweetness and a touch of brown bread, all overlaid with prominent flourishes of dried fruits akin to raison, fig, and prune. The theme carries forth onto the palate, too, where a dark fruit character melds with the 8%+ ABV and moderate hop acidity to...
- Style: American Amber Ale
- ABV: 6.1%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 40
- Serving Temperature: 45-50° F
- Suggested Glassware: Pint Glass or Mug
- Hops: Warrior, Cascade
- Malts: 2 Row, Caramunich 40 & 60
- Country: United States
Mendocino considers this amber ale to be their flagship brew, and we think it’s a good one to carry the banner. Pouring a pure amber color with a robust head of light beige foam, Red Tail offers up a pleasing and fairly robust caramel malt aroma with notes of toasted bread and just a touch of implied sweetness. Look for a somewhat floral and citric hop note with an accompanying wisp of minerality. On the palate, this amber ale bursts forth ...
