Light and refreshing is the name of the game with Jeremiah Johnson’s Blonde Ale. In the glass, expect an inviting golden-straw color and an easygoing aroma profile led by clean grain and malt character with subtle hop accents. The malt bill combines local Montana Pale 2-Row with Munich, Caramel, and White Wheat, creating an even-bodied foundation with a bit more depth than its pale appearance might suggest. Perle and Montana-grown Saaz hops provide a restrained counterpoint, contributing a hint of hop bitterness without distracting from the beer’s smooth, balanced character. That balance continues on the palate, where the malt remains clean and approachable while the hops provide just enough bitterness to keep things crisp and refreshing. There’s nothing overly aggressive here; this is designed as a versatile, go-anywhere beer with broad appeal. That makes it equally versatile at the table. Try it alongside grilled chicken, bratwurst, burgers, pizza, fish and chips, or mild cheeses. It should also be a natural choice for backyard grilling and other casual fare. Cheers!
Jeremiah Johnson Brewing Company was born in early 2018 when founder Jeremiah Johnson took the leap into the brewing business after years spent in sales, marketing, economic development, and real estate development. A Montana State University graduate with a longtime entrepreneurial streak, Johnson put his own name on the brewery and set out to build a distinctly Montana beer company. The brewery operates its production facility in Great Falls and has built its identity around straightforward, approachable craft beer and the agricultural resources of its home state.
Montana plays a central role in the brewery’s philosophy. Jeremiah Johnson emphasizes locally sourced ingredients from Montana’s Golden Triangle, an agricultural region known for its barley production, while describing its mission as making world-class, “no-nonsense” craft beer. The brewery also emphasizes supporting local communities and celebrating the ingredients grown in its backyard. Its current year-round lineup covers a broad range of approachable styles, from Blonde Ale and Honey Weizen to Mountain Man Scotch Ale, Vanilla Porter, Citra IPA, and the two hazy, hop-forward beers featured here.
