Wild West Ale is also brewed in the English Ale tradition with a combination of tow row Pale, Carastan and Wheat malts. Here, Kessler uses Willamette hops in four separate additions during the 90-min. boil to both bitter and add hop aroma to this beer. A proprietary English Ale yeast strain is used. Notes From the Panel: We found Wild West to have a cream, almost butterscotch nose that also hinted of hop spice and some floral hop notes. Look for good head retention in this light golden, medium-bodied, filtered beer. Note a malty sweet start, a somewhat buttery and creamy mouth feel, and a bitter, clean hop finish. Overall, a very nice English style ale.
