Established by three Worcester Polytechnic Institute graduates—Kevin Buckler, Peter Quinn, and Ned LaFortune—the brewery was built on a shared passion for fresh, flavorful beer and a desire to bring high-quality, locally crafted options to New England. Drawing inspiration from the surrounding region, including nearby Mount Wachusett, the founders developed a brand rooted in outdoor culture, community, and regional pride.

In its early years, Wachusett operated on a modest scale, brewing beer on a small system and handling much of the production and distribution themselves.
