Upcoming Beer Festivals - August 2014

Pouring at the Oregon Beer Festival

July 31 - August 3, 2014

Mammoth Lakes , CA - 18th Annual Mammoth Festival of Beers & Bluesapalooza

"The Mammoth Festival of Beers and Bluespalooza was started 19 years ago by Sam Walker in the parking lot of Whiskey Creek with just ten breweries and a handful of beer lovers. With BBQ ribs on the grill and a local garage band playing on the roof of the restaurant, it was a fun beginning! The idea behind the event was simple-have fun and introduce Mammoth to the joys of handcrafted beers. The second year we threw in some real blues bands and a lot more breweries and we've never looked back. From these humble beginnings, the festival is now recognized as one of the best beer and blues festivals in the United States. FUN has always been, and continues to be, our top priority!"

Portland , ME - Beer Camp Across America New England Edition

"Beer Camp Across America will feature seven stops-in cities with thriving craft beer cultures-moving geographically west to east, much like the craft movement has historically spread. Each tour stop will feature that city's local and surrounding regional brewers. The festivals will appropriately begin and end at Sierra Nevada's two brewing locations, kicking off in Chico where it took root in 1980, and culminating in Mills River, NC for the grand opening of its East Coast brewery. Each festival will feature up to two beers per brewery, food vendors, and live music by the MarchFourth Marching Band spectacle. Tickets are now on sale at www.SierraNevada.com/BeerCamp and are limited to 5,000 per venue. Tickets cost $65 for general admission, which includes a tasting glass and unlimited tastings (in most locations, see the website for full details). A designated driver ticket is available for $30. Ticket prices are exclusive of taxes and fees, which will vary according to location. In conjunction with the festivals, Sierra Nevada has partnered with a dozen exceptional craft breweries to create 12 different beers for one mixed 12-pack - including 10 bottles and two cans - another first in the craft beer world. The Beer Camp Across America 12-pack will be available throughout the U.S. this summer, and the dozen brewing partners will join selective legs of the festival tour."

Denver , CO - Sesh Fest

"From the creators of Collaboration Fest (see video below!), Imbibe and the Colorado Brewers Guild present SESH FEST. Enjoy dozens of breweries paying homage to the session-style beer at this summer's Sesh Fest. Plenty of art, food, lawn games, and music to complement Colorado craft beer. We can't find a real definition for session beers, but we here are Sesh Fest define them as any beer under 5% ABV with a balance of flavor between hops and malt and a clean, crisp finish all combine to give a beer high drinkability. The real purpose of session beers is to allow a beer lover to have multiple beers in one sitting without feeling the overwhelming effects of alcohol."

“Portland Beer Week is a 10 day celebration of craft beer in the greatest beer city on earth. Dedicated to promoting Portland and our diverse craft beer culture, Portland Beer Week is a grassroots organization founded in 2011 as an annual city-wide event. We explore the boundaries and the things that make us great with fun, unique and educational events that take place all over the city with the best in restaurants, breweries, bars, retail stores, bottle shops and more. Attendees of Portland Beer Week can expect to both be entertained and enlightened with creative beer pairing events, beer dinners with some of the cities top chefs, seminars on subjects like barrel-aging and sour beers as well as festivals exploring styles such as the Rye Beer Fest and Portland Fruit Beer Festival. Each year we also select two breweries who collaborate to create the official annual Portland Beer Week beer available in limited quantities in bottles and kegs during beer week.”
